Today marks the 51st anniversary of Earth Day, and Facedrive is proud to celebrate the occasion with a tree-planting campaign in partnership with the City of Markham’s Trees for Tomorrow program. While this past year has been challenging and overwhelming for most, Earth Day brings hope and reminds us to give back to our shared home.
Earth Day is observed as a day of action to change human behaviour and help protect the planet; yet at Facedrive, we are committed to this mandate all year round by offering an ecosystem of services built on ESG principles.
Planting trees to mitigate climate change by offsetting carbon emissions and ultimately becoming a carbon neutral operation has been our commitment since the inception of Facedrive. With our long time partner Forests Ontario, Facedrive Rideshare has been contributing to local tree-planting initiatives for rides completed through our platform to collectively plant over 4,500 trees.
This Earth Day, Facedrive augments these efforts by contributing to the City of Markham’s Trees for Tomorrow campaign in the following ways:
Facedrive Foods, our eco-friendly food delivery service, has committed to planting one tree for every merchant partner that makes at least one delivery through the platform on April 21, 2021;
Steer EV, our hassle-free electric vehicle subscription service, has committed to planting one tree for every new user registration made on April 21, 2021;
EcoCRED*, our sustainability platform built to educate users on “green” habits and promote sustainable lifestyles, has committed to planting one tree for every new user registration made on April 21, 2021.
